Preschool Supervisor

I have been in the teaching profession for twenty years both in Nottinghamshire and Norfolk.

My teaching jobs have ranged from teaching  2 year olds to 11 year olds and also management experience of being Deputy Head Teacher in three different schools.

I have an English degree and so I love teaching all elements of English including phonics, spelling and reading. I also enjoy art and creating displays of the children's work.

For many years, I have been Senior Designated Professional for Safeguarding and Child Protection.

It is so rewarding and fun working with young children especially witnessing their development and interest in new experiences and every day is different.

Helen Oakden

Preschool Assistant Supervisor

I started working in preschool in 2006 as an Assistant.  I qualified in my NVQ3 Childcare, Learning and Development in 2010 and accepted the Deputy Supervisior role in 2012 after my daughter was born.  I have now taken over as the setting SENCO and I have qualifications in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Lead Practitioner and Level 2 Food Hygiene.  I enjoy attending training courses that can assist and enhance our preschool.

I have lived in Neatishead on and off since the age of nine.  I attended Neatishead School, my daughter came to our preschool before moving on to school.  I therefore have a strong connection to the village, which I believe helps me want the best for the children of this area and for me to provide the best preschool start to ever child in their early education.

Christine Newman

Preschool Assistant

My eldest daughter began at the Preschool in 2009 and as a result I joined the committee as I wanted to be part of her journey.

My younger daughter also started in 2011 and I enjoyed going into Preschool and playing with the children so much that I decided to retrain.

In 2011 I began my Level 2 Childcare qualification and was welcomed into the Preschool two days per week gaining experience.

In 2012 I became a Preschool Assistant and started my Level 3 Childcare qualification, which I hope to finish within the next few months.
