I started working in preschool in 2006 as an Assistant. I qualified in my NVQ3 Childcare, Learning and Development in 2010 and accepted the Deputy Supervisior role in 2012 after my daughter was born. I have now taken over as the setting SENCO and I have qualifications in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Lead Practitioner and Level 2 Food Hygiene. I enjoy attending training courses that can assist and enhance our preschool.
I have lived in Neatishead on and off since the age of nine. I attended Neatishead School, my daughter came to our preschool before moving on to school. I therefore have a strong connection to the village, which I believe helps me want the best for the children of this area and for me to provide the best preschool start to ever child in their early education.

Personal Interests
I love to garden, run (I am often at the local park run, either as a participant or volunteer) and I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family. We often spend time exploring the Norfolk Broads and supporting The Canaries!
I’m enthusiastic about providing rich, varied & spontaneous experiences which actively engage children. I have 16 years’ experience within a professional childcare and educational setting.
Before I moved to Norfolk, I was a registered childminder as I enjoy being around young children & have a keen interest in child development.

Personal
The outdoors is my favourite place to learn and play. I love how it is always changing with the seasons and offers endless opportunities for open-ended play, exploration and discovery.
I truly believe children are born curious, and our role is to nurture that curiosity and help it grow. By following children’s interests and allowing them to learn at their own pace, we create meaningful experiences that help every child thrive and develop a love of learning.
When I’m not at preschool you’ll usually find me with my own two boys – a busy little toddler and my adventurous 7-year-old. We’re always out exploring, finding new places to visit, getting muddy, and making memories together with our gorgeous German Shepherd who’s more like a big teddy bear than a dog!

Personal interests
Outside of work, I really enjoy anything creative. Art and crafts are a big part of my hobbies, and I love trying new ideas and making things in my spare time. I also enjoy singing and acting, which are activities I find fun and a great way to express my creativity.
I believe the best early years memories are made through fun, laughter, music and lots of smiles. I love creating a happy, welcoming environment where children feel confident to be themselves, explore, play and learn. Whether we’re getting creative, singing together, having a dance or simply sharing a giggle, I want every child to feel cared for, encouraged and excited to come through the door each day.

Qualifications
Working towards becoming a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator. I have completed a range of relevant training, including Level 3 Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Prevent Duty, as well as numerous additional training courses relating to working within early years.
Experience
Working with children aged 2–5 in an early years setting, where I have developed my skills in planning and leading engaging, play-based activities, linking each one to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
My approach is patient, nurturing and consistent, I enjoy getting to know each child and finding ways to support their individual needs through play.I have a particular interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including children who may need support with their speech and language development. I have completed an introduction course to British Sign Language and have used what I have learned to help support children’s communication and promote inclusion.
I also really value working together with parents and carers, working together to give children the best possible support. I am excited to be part of the team here and get to know the children and families!
